Solana has a moment of panic when she remembers her sister Lydia is now a mother, with responsibilities.
Her own life trajectory goes forward at a slower pace.
Solana and Arne have been planning to marry for a long time. They just kept getting distracted with other things. Now that Lydia's moved in with them and has a kid, though, they're thinking about having their own, which reminds them... they haven't had a wedding yet.
On the morning of the wedding it starts to rain. Solana tries some mad science to change the weather, but her prototype machine fails. Still some bugs to work out.
At the last minute they have the venue changed for an indoor party.
This is the top floor of The Green Room.
Arne and Solana's parents are the first to arrive. Valter and Lynx, still buddies after all these years, immediately gravitate towards the expensive nectar. They'll probably need it to deal with Mariposa.
Valter has retired, but Lynx hasn't yet, and probably never will.
Allyson Thompson arrives in a wedding dress, apparently trying to upstage the bride?
Lily thinks she needs an umbrella.
Valerian won't stop crying.
Allyson won't stop crying either.
Arne and Solana do not care about these distractions, if they even notice them.

Etc.: Not much to say. After the multi-tasking struggles of the Quill legacy recently, playing a household where two of the members have normal rabbithole jobs to occupy their time is refreshing.
That was a really great party by Sims standards! No one died, for example, and the slap-around-the-groom event never really got off the ground, so he was still able to enjoy the night.
ReplyDeleteThe old men best friends, I loved all the little quips about people's personalities, and the crying baby face, drinking from the fountain face were all very entertaining. Also the rooms look good, hard to tell it's that same cramped little place they started out in.
Are you using risky woohoo (10% chance) so there's less urgency to have kids all at once? Just curious.
I do not use that mod, so all pregnancies in my legacy household are on purpose. "Try for Baby" sometimes fails, but it seems highly weighted in favor of successful pollination, so any time sims are trying and not immediately succeeding in the story is purely fiction. I'm just having them do normal woohoos until I feel like letting them have a kid. Or two. I rolled for 3, so I'm not sure which of the sisters is having two. Lydia or Solana.

ReplyDeleteLove the steampunk house. Both of the sisters have such interesting personalities this generation--such unique combinations of traits, experiences, and life choices!--and I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
Looking forward to where their paths lead, and--of course--what Valerian and her siblings/cousins will be like.
